John Dalton, Technical Service Engineer at WR Grace, will be presenting on passive fire protection of structural steel and concrete, with an emphasis on large tunnels and petrochemical facilities. Mr. Dalton will also discuss testing requirements for spray-applied fire resistive material (SFRM) and highlight project examples.
Mr. Dalton has worked at WR Grace for 14 years and is involved in major construction projects around the world. He is the task group chair of ASTM E6.21 which governs standards related to requirements for SFRM, and is a principal committee member for NFPA 502 which provides standards for fire protection of tunnels and highways. Mr. Dalton is also a technical liaison with Underwriters Laboratories, FM Global, Warnock-Hersey, Western Fire, Bodycote Warrington and Efectis, as well as testing agencies in Australia, Singapore, China, New Zealand and Japan.
