The race to develop effective Fluorine Free Foams is a topic that is ever changing and evolving. Mark will help to shed light on the issues, problems and breakthroughs that have occurred in the past as well as clarify some misconceptions and realities that surround the development process of creating safe and effective firefighting foam and technologies.

Mark Siem is a Chemist and Business Development Manager for Perimeter Solutions with 15 years of experience in testing and formulating firefighting foams. Mark has served as Senior Research Chemist for both Tyco Fire Protection and Solberg Foam. He holds 6 patents in firefighting chemistry and formulations. Mark has taught as a Guest Instructor at TEEX (Texas AM Industrial School) on Firefighting Foam and other topics. He is a Principal Committee Member on NFPA 11 (Standard for Low, Medium and High-Expansion Foam) and NFPA 418 (Standard for Heliports) as well as serving on ISO 7076 (Foam Fire Extinguishing Systems). With his many years of practical experience in the industry, Mark now gets to enjoy the opportunity to travel and speak with people about foam technology and its applications.
