FM Global SimZone

The FM Global SimZone is a state of the art hands-on training facility that provides the opportunity to better understand a wide variety of property hazards and protection solutions that may be present at facilities world-wide.  The SimZone provides the ability to create hazard scenarios without any real hazards.  These simulated hazards involve building construction, steam and industrial heating equipment, electrical components, and ignitable liquids. 

The SimZone also presents the opportunity to explore and understand fire protection components and how the systems work with proper test procedures.  The riser lab contains 18 different sprinkler riser configurations and the fire pump room contains independent electric and diesel driven fire pumps.  The wet lab allows for fire pump testing and the ability to demonstrate sprinkler discharge patterns and how they are adversely affected by obstructions.

The SimZone tour is sponsored by FM Global and registration is free.  In lieu of a registration charge, donations to the A.L. Brown Scholarship Fund can be made through the chapter website.  Registrations will be limited to 40 people.  A continental breakfast will be provided prior to the tour.
