May Webinar - Promoting the Practice of Fire Protecting Engineering
Welcome to SFPE New England's May webinar. Due to COVID-19, we are sadly unable to meet in person as we have for so many years. Instead, we will be able to learn about new and exciting topics from the safety of our socially and physically distant computers. We are excited to present opportunities for New England's fire protection industry to get together and stay current on new topics.
On the May webinar, Mr. Jack Poole, the current SFPE President, will be with us to provide a brief overview and update on SFPE. He will also address the importance of licensure and professional practice in the field of fire protection and attempt to differentiate between the roles of the designer versus the engineer. This may seem clear to many of us that live in the fire protection world, but often not clear to others, including some state licensing Boards. As a licensed Professional Engineer in 51 states and territories, and a member of the Kansas Board of Technical Professions, Mr. Poole will also touch on the future work that needs to be done to help ensure competent engineers are performing fire protection engineering.
