Join us on March 7th for a presentation by Michael Swain from UMass. Mike will be discussing the unique aspects of college campus fire safety, as well as current problematic trends on campuses. Mike will also tackle some of the conditions that engineers can face when working on campus projects.

Mike is the Campus Fire Marshal with Environmental Health and Safety at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Mike has worked in campus fire safety at the University for over 30 years. He serves as President for The Center for Campus Fire Safety, a nonprofit advocacy group for Campus Fire Safety. He has been a member of the Greenfield, MA Fire Department for 34 years and currently holds the rank of District Chief. Mike is a Past President of the Fire Prevention Association of Massachusetts and is currently serving as secretary of the association. He was the 2008 Fire and Life Safety Educator of the Year for Massachusetts.
