Join us on March 2nd for a presentation by Robert Solomon of NFPA. He will be discussing the recent NFPA workshop on school safety, codes and security. The 60+ life safety, security and law enforcement professionals who participated in the workshop discussed best practices, trends and lessons learned as a result of various school violence events. Communication methods with the first responders as well as planning and training at the school administration level were considered. Discussion points included locking hardware, multiple hazard planning, fire alarm planning and delayed response, and tools/procedures for first responders facing an armed intruder.

Robert Solomon is the Division Manager for NFPA's Building Fire Protection and Life Safety Department.
